Registration Questions
Q. Will it cost me anything to join the Reader Panel? A. There are no costs associated with joining the Reader Panel. However, you will need an email address and internet access to receive email invitations to be able to complete the online surveys.
Q. What do I do if I change my email address or move house? A. Contact us at support@readerpanel.com.au and let us know your new email address or any change in personal details, we will update your profile.
Q. Can I have more than one Reader Panel membership? A. No, membership is restricted to one account per person. Please refer to News Limited's Terms and Conditions if you require further information.
Q. Can I refer other people to become members of the Reader Panel? A. Yes, simply email the Reader Panel URL http://survey.confirmit.com/wix/p497398252.aspx to your family or friends to join.
Q. How do I cancel my membership? A. You can resign from the panel by unsubscribing. Simply click on the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email we send you and then enter the email address you used to join the panel. If you can not find an email from us, simply contact us. In the subject of your email, add the word "Unsubscribe".
Survey Questions
Q. How will I know that I am to complete a survey? A. We will send an email invitation to you telling you that a survey is waiting for you. A link in the email will take you to the survey. The email will detail the incentives you will receive, when we need you to complete the survey by and how long it should take.
Q. If I am not able to complete a survey after I have started, how do I access it and do I have to start the survey from the beginning again? A. You can return to an incomplete survey by clicking on the link in the original invitation email and proceed to the first unanswered question.
Q. I clicked on a link in the email before the closing date and time and was told it was full, why is this? A. The vast majority of our survey invitation emails are sent approximately a week in advance of the closing date, allowing people sufficient time to respond. Sometimes we receive a better response than expected which means that survey is filled before the closing date. Make sure you react early to ensure you have the best opportunity to enter the prize draw.
Q. How often am I going to be asked to complete surveys? A. You can expect to receive an invitation to complete a survey about once a month, however, depending on your profile we may ask you to complete surveys more or less often.
Q. Will I be penalised if I do not complete a survey I am invited to participate in? A. No, you will not be penalised if you do not complete a survey. You can complete as many or as few surveys as you want to.
Q. If I cannot participate in a survey should I let you know? A. No, there is no need.
Q. If I am away, can I get someone else to complete my surveys for me? A. No, unfortunately once you have personally registered with the Reader Panel only you can complete the surveys.
Q. I'd like to do these surveys but I have no web access - can you post them to me or can I do them over the phone? A. No, unfortunately there is no other way to take part in these online surveys.
Software & Browser Questions
Q. Is there any extra software I will need on my computer to do the surveys? A. Some of our surveys require the Adobe Flash Player. It should only take two to three minutes to download through www.adobe.com and click on the 'download Flash Player' link. While it is not compulsory that you download Flash Player in advance, it will save you from having to do so when you attempt a survey that requires it.
Q. What are the minimum software and browser requirements to participate in online surveys? A. Reader Panel surveys can be accessed by the vast majority of personal computers that run Windows or Mac Operating Systems. However we recommend: Microsoft Windows Vista/ XP / 2000 / NT (preferred) or Apple Macintosh / iMac (G3) with OS 9.x or higher.
The minimum Browser requirements are: Internet Explorer version 5.x or Netscape version 7.x or higher.
Additional requirements: Browser has Java VM; JavaScript and cookies enabled.
Optional: Adobe Flash Player (needed to view Flash objects in surveys)
