The News Limited Reader Panel - Prize Draw
Terms and Conditions
- Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.
- Entry is open to residents of the following Australian states or Territories ? New South Wales, ACT, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria
- All entrants must be aged 18 years or older.
- Employees and their immediate families of News Limited and their associated agencies and companies are ineligible to enter. Immediate family is deemed to be siblings, parents, children, and family living under the same roof.
- Competition period runs from 12.01am AEST 15th October 2008 to 11.59pm AEST 30th September 2009, during which time there will be four separate prize draws. (see below for details)
How to enter:
- Panellists will be automatically entered into the prize draw upon completing a News Limited Reader Panel survey, including the joining survey located at www.readerpanel.com.au. For each survey completed during an entry period a separate entry will be made. Surveys completed in an entry period will be entered into the corresponding draw for that period. Entries from one draw will expire after that draw and will not be entered into successive draws.
Prizes:
- The prize for each prize draw is a $10,000 cheque, there will be one winner per draw. For each prize draw, the first randomly selected valid entry will receive a cheque for $10,000. The total prize pool for the year is $40,000
- Entry Periods for the prize draws are as follows:
- Draw 1- 12:00 AM AEST 15/10/08 to 31/12/08 11:59 PM AEST
- Draw 2- 12:00 AM AEST 1/1/09 to 31/3/09 11:59 PM AEST
- Draw 3- 12:00 AM AEST 1/4/09 to 30/6/09 11:59 PM AEST
- Draw 4- 12:00 AM AEST 1/7/09 to 30.9.09 11:59 PM AEST
The draw will be conducted 2 weeks after the closing dates above at the following times:
- Draw 1- 12:00 PM AEST 12/1/09
- Draw 2- 12:00 PM AEST 13/4/09
- Draw 3- 12:00 PM AEST 13/7/09
- Draw 4- 12:00 PM AEST 12/10/09
- The random draw will be conducted at the following location, from the database of entries received during the entry period.

Winners will be notified by email within 28 days of draw date above, and will have 2 months to reply with acceptance of the prize. Failure to reply within the specified time period will result in forfeiture of the prize. No extension will be given on this time period. Winners names will be published the website and in The Australian public notices section on:
- Draw 1- 12/2/09
- Draw 2- 13/5/09
- Draw 3- 13/8/09
- Draw 4- 12/11/09
- The result of each draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The prize is not transferable.
- It is the responsibility of readers to provide correct and accurate contact details, including names, address and contact phone numbers.
- The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of an entrant being unable to satisfy these terms and conditions or not claiming a prize. If any prize remains unclaimed as at 5pm 2 months after winner is notified (as per clause 9 above), a second chance draw will be conducted by the Promoter at the same place as the original draw at 10am the following business day, subject to any written direction given under applicable law. The unclaimed prize draw winner(s) will be notified by email within 14 days and their name will be published in The Australian Public Notices section within 28 days. Redraw dates will be as follows:
- Redraw 1- 12:00 PM AEST 14/4/09
- Redraw 2- 12:00 PM AEST 14/7/09
- Redraw 3- 12:00 PM AEST 13/10/09
- Redraw 4- 12:00 PM AEST 31/1/10
- The winners release the Promoters from any and all causes of action, losses, liability, damage, expense (including legal expenses) cost or charge suffered, sustained or in any way incurred by the winner as a result of any loss or damage to any physical property of the winner, or any injury to or death of any person arising out of, or related to, or in any way connected with the Promoters or the prize.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, late, incorrectly entered or misdirected entries. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or telecommunication systems, or any combination thereof.
- The prize winners must, on request by the Promoter, be able to provide evidence which, to the reasonable satisfaction of the Promoter, demonstrates that the winner is an eligible entrant and has complied with these Terms and Conditions.
- News Limited collects your information to include you in this competition and will disclose the information to others who help us run the competition. We may also use the information to assist us in improving our goods and services and to contact you in the future in regard to our other goods and services. We may share your information with other persons or entities who assist us in performing the above or with another company which provides prizes for the competition or reader offer. News Limited is part of a global media and entertainment company which, in Australia, publishes newspapers, magazines and distributes movies (among other things). We would like to share your information with these related companies so they can contact you with special offers but if you would prefer us not to, please contact the Privacy Officer on 02 9288 3212.
